Heart Institute of the Caribbean

 

B. Waine Kong
After 21 years as CEO of the Association of Black Cardiologists, a Health Power Cross-linked Web Partner, B. Waine Kong, Ph.D., J.D., who is also an Editor and Advisor of Health Power’s Spiritual Health Channel, has become Executive Vice President of the Heart Institute of the Caribbean, and President of the Heart Institute of the Caribbean Foundation. The Heart Institute is dedicated to improving cardiovascular care and related support for people in the Caribbean with limited financial resources.


The other members of the founding leadership are:

Ernest Madu, M. D, FACC, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer is the Founder of the Heart Institute. Dr. Madu previously served as Chairman and CEO of Echo Doctors of America, and is currently the Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and Imaging Technology at the University of Technology, Kingston, Jamaica. He is responsible for global vision and strategic direction.

Dainia Baugh, M.D, President and Co-Founder of the Heart Institute. Dr. Baugh directs the Center for Lifestyle and Health Management at the Heart Institute.

Edwin Tulloch–Reid, M.D, Vice President for Clinical Services. Dr. Tulloch-Reid is responsible for clinical leadership and ensuring best practices standard at the Institute.

Both Drs Madu and Baugh served previously on the Clinical Faculty of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, Tennessee, USA.

The Heart Institute of the Caribbean is based in Kingston, Jamaica.
