We are very pleased to have you join in our
Third Annual Dual Celebration of
Black Heritage Month
and
American Heart Month
Our Past Web Celebrations and Past Honorees are located in the About Health Power Section.
As we announced last month, Aetna's 2008 African-American History Calendar on Health Literacy, recognizes Norma J. Goodwin, M.D., Founder, President & CEO of Health Power, and the organization, for their significant contributions to Health Literacy in The Media. The lead article in the Winter issue of Health Power News provides more details about this unique calendar, which is a very useful resource related to both Health Literacy and African-American history.
The calendar noted the effectiveness of Health Power's web site as follows:
- Its listing among the top five Google sites for multicultural/minority health information, and
- The web site's getting more than 2 million hits per year (now 3 million).
Be sure to review HIV/AIDS and African-Americans: Special Action Called For in Health Power News.
Also, Stand Up for Your Health by clicking on each bullet in both Celebrations, as they provide much more interesting and useful health related information.
